Who we are
About Lake Chart
Lake Chart is a small online shop with one specialty: depth charts of lakes, bays and harbors, cut by laser from Baltic birch and stacked so you can see what's under the surface. Each one shows where the bottom drops away, where the channels run and how deep it gets.
How the maps are built
Every map is a stack of Baltic birch layers cut by laser, one layer per depth contour. Deeper water sits lower in the stack, so the lake bed takes real shape in the wood.
On our 3D depth charts, place names and the shoreline are engraved by laser, the water is tinted so it stands out from the land, and the finished map is set in a solid wood frame behind acrylic glass. Our UV color charts use the same stacked layers, with labels and fine detail printed in color.
Lakes, coasts and harbors
Our maps cover nine regions, from the Great Lakes and Michigan to both coasts, Florida and the Gulf, Hawaii, the Caribbean and a few places overseas. Most come in 16 x 20 or 24.5 x 31 inches, and long, narrow lakes get a long format. You'll also find the same maps on cribbage boards, serving trays, and wall and tide clocks.
